Time to Prune

October 27th, 2009

As winter arrives, most people are trading our gardening tools in for snow shovels, snow blowers and ice scrapers.  Not us.  We are pulling out our pruners to get ready to do some winter pruning!

When the leaves are gone, revealing the form and branching structure of the plant, we find the best time to prune. Not only can you actually see the structure, but limits the chance for infection and it eliminates the bleeding of sap from fresh cuts.

Give Kinghorn Gardens a call if you are interested in winter pruning!

Remember, it is better not to prune than to do it incorrectly!
