This simple DIY project is perfect for a fun afternoon with the kiddos. If you don’t have a wood burner, grab some markers or paint and let the kids do the numbering! Just watch out when these dice roll, a Yahtzee could win you the game, but also hurt your baby toe!

2. Outdoor Movie Screen from Parents.com

Grab the popcorn and some PVC pipes! There are literally a million tutorials online for outdoor movie screens. You can go elaborate with this DIY and spend quite a few dollars on screens, strings, and framing materials or play it simple with a sheet and some bungee cords. Whatever your screen is made of, an outdoor movie night with family and friends is a great way to enjoy your outdoor living room.

How cool is this? Your little ones  (and  maybe you – this thing is awesome) will be shredding some serious air after just a few minutes of construction on this skateboard swing. Bring new life to your backyard tree with this project and make your yard the neighborhood hot spot for the local cool kids ready to catch some air.

Looking for a smaller DIY to take on over the weekend? These decorative pots may be just the thing. With fun colors, patterns and succulent combinations, the possibilities are endless. Add some color to your kitchen window, your desk at work or your front patio. Remember when selecting a succulent to consider the space where your newly potted plant will be; sun exposure, air flow, and moisture are key.

5. Picnic Table 2.0 from Remodleholic.com

Al fresco dining – I’m pretty sure that is what summer is all about. This tricked out picnic table makes things easy by keeping your cold drinks within arm’s reach. This DIY requires a little more skill in the woodworking department, but was just too genius not to share. At Kinghorn Gardens we love to create outdoor spaces and spend as much time outside as possible; with this awesome picnic table, trips to the fridge are swapped out for more time around the table, enjoying good food and even better company.

So whether you’re looking for a fun project to do with the kids or a way to make your outdoor space special this summer, there are plenty of great DIYs to keep you busy all season long.
