Five Reasons to Love Spring | Kinghorn Gardens

For today’s blog post please enjoy 5 reasons to love this season of new!

Snowdrops

1. Snowdrops (the breath-taking floral kind opposed to the frosty kind we’ve been used to)

You would think that snowdrops would be the last thing you would find a list of things to enjoy about spring but that’s why this pick is so ironic. This year we had snowdrops poke up as the first plant sighting on a clients property and they’re just so darn cute how can you not put them at number one!

2. Life sans-parka

I don’t know about you but one of the biggest perks of warmer weather is shedding a few layers. Anytime I can go out without a coat it means the temperature is just high enough to enjoy life outside. After a long, cold winter there’s nothing better than the joy of pulling your spring jacket out from the back of the closet.

Dirt

3. Dirt

Where would spring be without dirt?! A very under-appreciated component of the season of new has earned a space on our list. Plus what else would the kids dig in now that the snow is gone?

4. Open windows

The freedom, oh the freedom! I don’t care who you are or where you’re going, but the first warm day Nebraska’s weather orchestrator throws at us your window better be down on your drive to work! Let you hair fly around in a dangerous, view-obstructed fashion and let spring be your commenting buddy. Also open windows at home are a great way to push winter out the door and invite spring into stay!

Spring Color

5. Living color

After dealing with a vacant color pallet of browns, grays and white for the past few months, simple spots of color along the sidewalk, peaking through the mulch are reason enough to do a happy dance. Spring splashes on to the blank canvas winter leaves behind and we are lucky enough to enjoy the show.

Now there are hundreds of things we left off this list, but just getting five out there already puts a ‘spring’ in our step – pun intended. Think about all the great things this season of new is bringing you and get ready to enjoy spring one wonderful reason at a time!
