Gal Behind the Garden: Kim Zenchuk

Kim Zenchuk, Bookkeeper

Joined the Team: April 2017

Day-to-day activities:

Drink Coffee! Actually, I enter project information, prepare and send out client invoices, process payments, enter accounts payables, answer phone calls, emails, and faxes, and also file. Occasionally I help unload trucks too!

Where are you from?

Born and raised in Omaha!

Favorite plant and why?

Lilacs for outdoors. Indoors I like a peace lily because it is the only plant I don’t kill.

What does the Purple Polo mean to you?

Caring, passionate team members

At home garden:

Vegetables mostly, to make salsa for me and my kids

Most memorable trip:

Colorado Springs when I was 14. I fell in love with the mountains.

Favorite food:

I can’t really name one because I LOVE food!

Hobbies:

Home DIY projects, refinishing furniture, hiking with my kids, playing with my grandson, cooking, and baking.

Favorite Outdoor Activity:

Working in the yard and hiking

Favorite part of a garden:

How it marks and celebrates the different seasons.

At work warm and fuzzies:

Completing my tasks without having to ask too many questions.

One thing you can’t live without:

Early morning quiet/alone time

If you were a tree what tree would you be?

A weeping willow-they are so big and beautiful.

Ideal way to spend a weekend?

Cooking, baking, and spending time with my family.

Favorite book?

There are too many to name. I enjoy reading but don’t often find the time.

Best part about wearing a purple polo:

Being a part of a team that cares so much
