Looking for some local fun this June? Check out these hand picked events the Purple Polos thought you might enjoy.

June 5th-7th Sand in the City: Check out over 15 teams try their hand at sand sculpting at the Century Link Center. This free event has plenty of things for the whole family to enjoy including bounce houses, food rockets, and 45-ton sand sculptures!

June 5th-7th Omaha Summer Arts Festival: Art, music, food, and the Old Market; what’s not to love? Grammy Award winner Chubby Carrier goes on Saturday at 7pm.

June 6th-7th Beerfest at Stinson Park: Just down the street from our design office, enjoy some brews. All General Admission tickets are good for one day of sampling and include a tasting glass, unlimited 2 ounce samples of craft beer and live music.

June 8th Outdoor Movie in Midtown: Grab a blanket and some creme soda from Wohlner’s and head to Turner Park at Midtown Crossing for a movie on the big screen under the stars. June 8th is the second Hunger Game’s movie, Catching Fire.

June 12th Opening CWS Game: Playyyyy ballllll. Grab your glove and buy me a frozen lemonade! Enjoy some country music from The Railers for opening night.

June 13th Last Day of Spring Fever at Film Streams: This is your last Saturday to catch a classic spring film at Film Streams. I suggest seeing Chicken Run with an extra buttery tub of popcorn.

June 14th Yoga Rocks the Park: Every Sunday grab your mat and favorite pair of yoga pants for Yoga Rocks the Park. June 14th features Yoga teacher: Good Vibes / Musician: Talking Mountain’s Weird Howl.

June 18th Classic Omaha Steakhouse Bus Tour: BEEF. It’s what’s for dinner – on June 18th. Snag a ticket for this express tour of some of the best red meat plates in Omaha. Tickets are $65 and for three hours of steak education and appreciation.

June 19th Elmwood Pool Dance Party: You’ll need your swim trunks and your dancing shoes for this poolside event. From the photos, it looks as though this is a hilariously fun summer event you and the kiddos do not want to miss.

June 17th-21st Papillion Days: Off a recommendation of a Papillion resident, our very own Anne Houser, this community festival brings fun for the whole family. Music, carnival rides, face painting, and plenty of bad-for-swim-suit-season snacks keep this party hoping all weekend long.

June 22nd Hydrant Party in Saddlebrook: From 1-2pm the hydrants will be flowing at 14850 Laurel Ave.

June 23rd or 24th Championship Game of CWS: Still too soon to tell who will be the final match up, but it will definitely be a game you don’t want to miss.

June 25 Playing with Fire Concert Series: Join the Paul Deslauriers Band with very special guests Anwar Khurshid, Angel Forrest and Denis Coloumbe, and the Blues Ed Youth Band – Dilemma, for a special Thursday in the Park, 3 hour nonstop show!

June 28th Nebraska Wind Symphony: The symphony comes to Stinson Sunday, June 28th. Don’t forget your lawn chairs and sunglasses!

Also during the whole month of June check out local farmer’s markets, and Gardens Gone Wild at Lauritzen Gardens.
