Our latest Places & Spaces project takes us to an Omaha backyard in need of a patio overhaul. The homeowners hoped to renew their outdoor space which originally consisted of an at-grade wood deck with a privacy fence. Our landscape architect in training, Zack Fergus, continued the theme of a previous project Anne Houser designed in the front yard.
Plans included plenty of room for outdoor entertaining with a two-tier patio, a combined area of 22 x 25 feet, and new landscaped planting beds around the perimeter of the patio and yard.
After tearing out the existing deck, constructing both patios, and creating and planting the new landscaped beds, the Purple Polo Crew was on site for around fifteen days, making sure everything went according to plan and exceeded the homeowner’s expectations.
Purple Polos, Dave and Jon, tediously leveled out the first tier of the patio, being sure to have solid foundation for the rest of the project.
The patio design called for a mix of sizes of Umbriano concrete pavers from Unilock, crushed limestone and sand for the base.
The intricate paver design made for a patio sized puzzle that took three Purple Polos to master. Dave even started to dream about this project…
After two weeks of hard work, the patio overhaul was complete! The pavers look amazing and the the new landscaped beds tie it all together. We are so excited for the family to be able to enjoy their new outdoor space the rest of the summer and many years to come!
